Releasing this one back into the wild. I had so much fun sailing this for the past 20+ years, but I’m retiring from Thistling and moving on.
Woodie Thistle Class Sailboat. Hull #153 is an early hull, assembled from a 1947 Douglass & McLeod Kit, in the mid-late 1950s. I’ve done quite bit of refurbishment, maintenance, and updating. All of the controls sail well either 2-up or 3-up. Beautiful dark red mahogany w/ clear finish natural insides and out. She is a race boat, still actively sailed and competitive. This is a fine and rare example which comes as a great package deal with everything I own that’s related (eg. 2-suits of older sails [perfect for club fleet racing], 3 spinnakers (including a new Quantum radial), tapered spinnaker pole, ash tiler with 2x hiking sticks, rudder, boom crutch, centerboard, bottom cover, trailering top & bottome cover, full skirt top cover for dry slip, centerboard cover, rudder cover, paddles, lifting bridle, anchor w/ line, Pamco Trailer w/ Spare, and assorted replacement Thistle parts).
