3791 “Red” has been owned by the New Castle Sailing Club. In New Castle Delaware. It is the oldest of the fleet of Thistles owned by the club. Each February the boats are prepared by the club members to be moored in the Delaware River. They are raced most every Saturday beginning in April and are available for day sails whenever the weather is right until the last weekend in October. ( www.newcastlesailingclub.org )
All the boats in the fleet including Red are extremely well maintained by the club and it is “race ready” with one exception. Since the boats are moored in the river the bottoms are painted with anti-fouling paint.
