Governors Cup Regatta
The North Carolina Governor’s Cup Regatta began in 1957, making it one of the oldest in the Southeast. The Regatta includes up to five races over two days. Racing takes place off Henderson Point Recreation Area on Kerr Lake which is known for its beautiful expanse of water, tree-lined shores, great family camping, and easy access from Interstate 85. The Carolina Sailing Club, the organizing authority, is currently planning for an event similar to previous years, which includes racing, breakfasts, après-racing socials, and a traditional dinner meal Saturday night. This is a multi-fleet regatta.
