2024 NIAGARA-FRONTIER DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP: NOTICE OF RACE

Organizing Authority: The Otsego Sailing Club

Rules: The Niagara Frontier District Regatta will be governed by the 2021-2024

Racing Rules of Sailing, the rules of The Thistle Class Association (TCA) Constitution

and by the sailing instructions. The Niagara Frontier District Regatta adheres to NYS

Aquatic Invasive Species regulations. All visiting boats must be clean and dry for at least 7 days prior to this event. This includes interior floatation tanks.

Eligibility: The 2024 Niagara Frontier District Regatta is open to boats in the Thistle

class and paid members of the Thistle Class Association.

Measurement: Competitors must be registered and measured by their class

organizations. Competitors may be subject to measurement at the event.

Entries: Eligible boats and skippers may register in advance or at the regatta per the

schedule below. The fee for the Niagara Frontier District Regatta is $55 per boat. A

$5 discount is given to members of U.S. Sailing.

Meals: Registration fees include continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday and a

“make your own” lunch for Saturday before launching prior to first race. Saturday

evening we are offering a Brooks Bar B Q dinner for $20 per person. A vegetarian entree will also be available. Please RSVP to 2024thistledistricts@gmail.com by June 3rd regarding the

number of dinners you plan to purchase. Additional dinners might not be available for

purchase at registration.

Sailing Instructions: The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration and the

skippers’ meeting.

Scoring: The Low Point system of Appendix A will apply. No throw-outs. 1 race

constitutes a regatta.

Trophies: Trophies will be awarded to the top five finishers.

Decisions of the Protest Committee: Decisions of the protest committee will be final.

Accommodations: Camping is free on the club grounds. We do not allow pets. Our

Clubhouse has limited amenities (no shower facilities). Lodging in host houses may

become available (contact regatta chairperson wmellor@stny.rr.com if you need to

overnight accommodations.
