| 1877 | $650 | Trailer, aluminum mast, some decent refinished wood and some other random bits. The trailer made a 2.5 hour journey here last fall but I would check the bearings (on principle) if you plan on towing the boat any distance with it. The winch has no handle and the trailer lights need to be gone through. No rudder and the two centerboards appear to need some work. No boom. No substantive hardware. Incomplete wood. There are some sails which I have not unrolled but given a quick look appear to be useable. This looks like a wonderful boat but I have too many projects and not enough time. | 1988 | $850 | Nice old boat and trailer that need to find someone that wants to restore a Thistle. It was last owned by a non-sailor who took it out by himself after doing some work on it. The transom has been replaced as the original had some rot. The work is well-done using marine plywood and one coat of fiberglass. There is also some old repair work around the centerboard box. Inventory: gold aluminum mast that looks nice and straight no crank handle, two wooden booms that need work, wood rudder, two tillers one wiht extension, two spinnaker poles wood/metal, seven sails (two mains, two spinnakers, three jibs, and one larger jib that is the same height as a thistle sail only larger) They are all usable. The trailer is old with some (mainly surface) rust, new bearings and good, but not new tires. The boat has a Florida title (At some point in its life the original paper work on the boat was lost so it was registered in Mississippi as a homemade boat and it is registered under that ID#. Got a small daysailer you want to trade? I will be happy to send pictures. | Pensacola, FL | Dave

| 1152 | $950 | I've owned this Thistle for 20 years and started to refinish it about 5 years ago and just can't get the time to finish what I started. It's a solid hull but needs some tender loving care. The interior has been epoxy and varnish but some of the veneer is lifting and will need help. The bottom fiberglassed and faired with epoxy, but it too has some spots that need attention. The exterior was recently painted with yellow Epiphanes. Much of the hardware is stripped off for the repaint but everything is there. Aluminum mast/ wood boom. You'll probably want new halyards, they're the originals and are tired. Two rudders, one a fixed foil for racing and the other a kick-up for cruising. New(er) main and jib for $400 and there's complete spinnaker gear and running rigging. I have a bunch of paint and refinishing supplies, all of which go with the boat as well. No trailer. The boat and all the gear weigh in at 550 pounds. I'm not asking for a lot of money--I just want to quickly get it into someones hands who will take care of her. This boat will be great for someone looking for a project and has some wood refinishing skills. When it was in the water with fresh varnish and paint it was the prettiest (and fastest) boat in the harbor. eBay Clasified: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230402862615#ht_500wt_980 | Hollis, NH | Pete Jenney

| 2328 | $2100 OBO | This boat has been restored to like-new condition from a rather beat-up mid-70's boat. Hull # 2328. I think built by D&M. She is fiberglass. The wooden rails have been rebuilt and varnished, light blue hull, cockpit repainted (sand color w/non-skid on floor), new hardware installed, new running rigging, trailer adjusted to fit the boat better and launch easier, hubs greased, new lights, all the wood has been refinished and looks gorgeous. She has a 3 batten (full leech) mainsail, jib, and spinnaker (no pole, but I have pole ends to make one). Two rudders (one kick-up, one fixed), two centerboards. (one set for cruising, one set for racing) Full set of poster-sized plans. Sails are in workable condition for day sailing (you wouldn't want to race with them). Magic-Tilt trailer in excellent condition. Full canvas cover for either mast-up or mast down storage/trailering. Need to sell soon, even at loss. Times are tough. Have 2.5 K "invested", not including time and labor. My loss, your gain, but move quick. | St Petersburg, FL | Richard Knudsen

| 3666 | $8,000.00 O.B.O. | Great Midwest Thistle with the choice of two trailers. One trailer is older and a low rider (easier for launching) and one is a newer galvanized trailer. The hull was built in 1980 and has been well cared for, the boat is stiff and competitive on the race course. A new Ballenger mast was added in 2004, and a new G.M.W. boom in 2005, most all of the running rigging is modern-mostly swift cord or the like, all hardware is Harken or Ronstan. The boat has two complete sets of sails: main, jib, and spinnaker. One club racing set approx. 1998; and one regatta set 2004 with light use. I also have two extra jibs, all sails are North-northwest cut. Two rudders, two centerboards, bottom trailer cover, top trailer cover, dock storage cover. Custom dock bunks. Many extras as wanted. | 2367 | $2,800 | The 1964 hull is in very good condition. No soft spots or other damage/repair. The metal strip that runs along the cut water has been damaged where it hits the bumper on the trailer. The static rigging is in very good condition. Mast/Boom are aluminum. Rudder in very good condition. I had to repair that laminations due to delamination. The repair went well and the rudder has been restored to excellent condition. Last season (2009) I removed all of the hardware, stripped down to the wood (and there is a lot of it) and applied 6 coats of Epiphane Varnish. All of the running rigging was replaced last summer (2009). It has two(+) sets of sails (jib, mail and spinnaker). One set is in good condition and the other is usable. The trailer had its bearing regreased two years ago. I rebuild all of the "woodware" needed to support the boat/mast/boom during transport. There is a cover that looks like to be in good usable condition but I have never used it. | 2543 | $2800 | Fiberglass Clark Boat (mid 70's). I bought this boat from a guy in Portland who had spend quite a bit restoring it with new green bottom paint and all refinished wood trim. In 2008 I added new North Sails (~10 days on them), still has old spinnaker. Upgraded from gold to a black mast and boom. I put all new Harken rigging on her, all brand new lines. Blades are in good shape. New cover. The boat is ready to sail and club race. Only issue with this boat is the tanks leak a little, but are filled with foam...pretty common with these boats. Trailer is older but functional with a modified hull cradle. Great boat I just have two babies and can't get out on the water as much these days, the boat sat in a covered enclosure for all of 2009. | Sale or Trade (or trade + or - cash for a late model Thistle.) 2005 Sea Doo Jet Boat. This boat cost over $12,000 new, and is in turn-key condition with less than 20 engine hours on her. It is capable of 50 + MPH speeds, and can tow a water skier with no difficulty. Boat is immaculate in every respect. All maintenance items have been complied with for the boat, and the trailer recently had new wheel bearings and tires fitted. New trailer-capable cover just purchased last week! I am really most interested in a TRADE for a race-ready Thistle in the 3900 hull number area. This boat would probably have to be located in the Los Angeles or Bay Area to facilitate the swap. I estimate a value of $8500 or thereabouts for the SEA DOO. | Buellton, CA | Paul Poindexter
